Solace

blog

Misty eyed, she cradles her face

She brings her knees close to her chest

Tears stream down her cheeks

She looks upon those slit wrists

Does she feel cursed to witness mere joy

It pains her to fathom all is fraud

She's in a void, dark and hollow

Incapable of turning back time when she soared as though a free bird

For now she is shackled, burdened to the weights of her tragic reality.

Her eyes are sore, they have lost the glimmer of hope that once shone bright

She hopes to be mere dust, cease into the air with wisps of smoke

And then the sun rose

The crisp fresh air of the morning blows in her face

The once overcast sky turns azure

She closed her eyes, took a few deep breaths and smiled

Contemplating what her penchant was for

She places her hand on a rose petal and let the cool dew drops fall

upon those palms

She stared over the purple horizon as she gazes over at swans making

sweet love across the lake

Her heart is at ease.
