Kathmandu, March 12: The government has decided to accept Rs 256 million to be provided by the Swiss government for the enforcement of 'quality TVET for youth project phase-I'.
For receiving the grant, the Finance Ministry would he given authority to sign the letter of exchange on behalf of the government.
A talks team under the coordination of Joint Secretary at Finance Ministry has been formed by the government to finalize the agreement on subsidized loan to be provided by the Japanese government for the project of Nagdhunga tunnel way. The team has been authorized to hold the talks, according to Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung.
Minister Gurung, who is also the government spokesperson, shared it while making public the Cabinet decisions on Wednesday. The decisions were made by the Cabinet meeting held on Monday.
The Cabinet meeting had made 25 different decisions which the Minister shared on Wednesday.
Accordingly, the government decided to authorize the Finance Ministry to sign a financial agreement on establishment of rapid response options for the project run by the World Bank.
According to Minister Gurung, the Cabinet also decided to form a talk team led by Joint Secretary at Finance Ministry to finalize the financial agreement and project document on accepting the grant amount of 200 million US dollars for the project on operation of strategic roads and upgrading of trade routes. These would be realized with the financial assistance of the World Bank.
The government endorsed the bases and procedures of the division of royalty among the federal, provincial and local levels as per recommendation of the National Natural Resource and Fiscal Commission. The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply and its subordinates have been given permission to conduct the Organization and Management survey.
Likewise, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supply, Damodar Bhandari, has been permitted to attend the NRN Euro regional conference to be held in Malta on March 28-30.
Meanwhile, the government has decided to appoint Bhagirathi Bhattarai (Gyawali), Kathmandu as the member of Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Similarly, the meeting took the decision to appoint Phaindra Raj Pandey to the post of Executive Director of National Tea and Coffee Development Board and to form a three-member Probe Commission related to loan shark victims, 2081 under chairmanship of Baburam Regmi to control such illegal act.
Bharat Bahadur Bohora and Badri Prasad Bhattarai are the members of the Probe Commission.
Likewise, the cabinet authorized the concerned ministry to formulate Bill related to Non-Resident Nepalis.
Similarly, Land Administration Directive, 2025 and Land Information System Operation Directive, 2071 have been scrapped while permission has been given to use 10.319 hectares land of national forest located at ward no 2, 5 6, 7 of Barahtaal rural municipality and ward no 3 of Panchapuri municipality in Surkhet district for the construction of Badichour-Bimreni-Babiyachour-Bidhyapur road.
A decision was taken to assign Joint-Secretary at the Ministry of Forest and Environment, Prof Dr Buddhi Sagar Poudel to the post of Chairperson of Board of Herbs Production and Processing Company Ltd. until next arrangement as well as to extend the deadline of high-level study and suggestion committee related to reforms of civil aviation sector by 45 days.
The government has appointed Dr Raghu Raj Kafle as the Executive Director of Health Insurance Board.(RSS)
