Mangalbare (Ilam), March 2: Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel, has said the hospitals cannot now find excuse for lack of medicines for health insurance.
Carrying out the monitoring of Ilam
Hospital today, he said all hospitals providing services under the health
insurance scheme should mandatorily keep the medicines designated by the Health
Insurance Board.
"It is illegal to say they
lack medicines even now. The hospitals should compulsorily retain the
stipulated medicines," the Health Minister insisted.
The government and the Board have
stipulated 98 types of medicines for the health insurance programme.
Minister Paudel said the Ministry
of Health has forwarded the necessary works to that end. Stating that although
there are some problems related to managing the insurance, he said the Ministry
is improving it and also carrying out works towards upgrading the District
Hospital.
Chief of Ilam Hospital Dr Prabhu
Shah complained that the hospital did not have adequate doctors in accordance
with the quota.
On this topic, the Health Minister
said that normally the doctors liked to stay in city areas, but the Ministry
will make provisions requiring the doctors to compulsorily go to the places
they have been assigned to work.
He reiterated that the Ministry
will address the demands for health appliances and facilities that the district
hospitals ask for as per their requirement. RSS
