Kathmandu, Feb 25: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has rescued 73 children in the previous fiscal year 2023/24 and so far in the current fiscal year 2024/25.
Of them, 41 are boys and 32 girls.
A total of 38 children were sent to the protection house. Similarly, 34
children were reunited with their families while the cases of seven children were
forwarded to the judicial process.

Silwal, said in recent two incidents, complaints were filed based on the
psychosocial report and joint monitoring report of KMC.
Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol has stressed paying attention to legal and practical aspects, methods and measures to be adopted to prevent negative impacts on the psychology of children.
"Though there are different
bodies working for children's welfare, the objective of all is the same. Let's
continue the collaboration and coordination. We have guaranteed presence of local
police representative in ward women network," shared Dangol.
Similarly, Deputy Inspector General
of Nepal Police's Women, Children and Senior Citizen Service Directorate, Uma
Prasad Chaturvedi, mentioned that action would be initiated preparing the
format of the complaint based on details in any format for the safety of
