Waling (Syangja), Feb 25: Chapakot
municipality in Syangja district has offered health insurance service to 600
poor families for free.
Out of 10 wards of the
municipality, 60 poor families have been selected in each ward for the
insurance coverage.
Mayor Dev Bahadur Khand said the
municipality offered health insurance service to such number of economically
poor households with the thinking that no one should be deprived of basic
health services due to financial reasons.
"The municipality brought them
under the free health insurance coverage to provide accessible health services
to people from the indigent community affiliating them in health insurance
scheme launched by the government of Nepal," he mentioned.
The municipality has allocated Rs
2.560 million budget for health insurance scheme of poor community in the
current fiscal year.
It has distributed insurance card
to such poor families and a family of five members would get health treatment
service free of cost. (RSS)
