Kathmandu, Feb 18: Chandragiri
municipality has honoured its chief administrative officer, Hemraj Aryal, for
this promotion to the post of joint secretary (gazetted first class
officer).
Aryal, the government
undersecretary working as chief administrative officer at the municipality for
one and half year, was recommended as the joint secretary after excelling the
internal competitive exam held by Public Service Commission.
Mayor of Chandragiri municipality
Ghanashyam Giri feted him by organizing a programme on Monday.
Mayor Giri shared that during his
term in the municipality, Aryal played a significant role in enforcing the
plans and activities like formation of municipal police, GPS, digital system,
and establishment of maternity hospital. These initiatives had long term
significance, he added.
"I worked with as many as 10
chief administrative officers so far. Among them, I found Aryal the most
competent, action-oriented and cooperative officer," Giri lauded, adding
that other officers can also learn from his work style.
On the occasion, joint secretary
Aryal said the work atmosphere at Chandragiri municipality is conducive and he
carried out his duties responsibly and honestly. "I do not entertain work under
pressure but on conscience," he informed.
On a different note, Aryal shared
he was able to secure his position as the gazetted first class officer through
PSC exam because he focused more on minute study of people's need and society
rather than bookish knowledge.
He also handed over 51-point
suggestion as 'institutional memory' to the municipality so that the good
practices made so far could be continued in the days ahead. (RSS)
