By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Feb.8: A two-day science exhibition was held at Southwestern State College in Basundhara.

The event, titled 'Science Exhibition and Career in Management 2025', was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh on Thursday.

The exhibition was organised to convey the message that students should receive scientific, practical, life-applicable and research-oriented education.

This is the 13th edition of the science exhibition.

DPM Singh highlighted that such events play a crucial role in raising awareness among students about the importance of science and technology.

He also pointed out that, though the state has not been able to invest adequately in science and technology, educational institutions should organise such exhibitions to encourage the government.

Singh emphasised that these exhibitions help students apply their theoretical knowledge and skills in practice.

On the occasion, Prakash Adhikari, head of Tokha Municipality praised Southwestern State College as a proud and leading educational institution of the municipality.

He mentioned that the Southwestern State College has been providing full scholarships to economically disadvantaged and talented students, which is a commendable effort.

Over 60 stalls have been set up by students from private and community schools and colleges. Participants will be engaged in various competitions with prizes such as cash awards, shields, and certificates. About 25,000 visitors visited the two-day exhibition, said Hari Singh KC, assistant campus chief.
