By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Jan. 28: Speakers at an interaction stated that Nepal would benefit much from learning from China's tremendous progress. They added that as China has made huge achievements in economic growth, Nepal would benefit much from learning from its experience.
On Monday, Nepal-China Friendship Society Lumbini held the interaction to mark the Chinese New Year (January 29) at Pugata Bhumi Jetwan Bihar,
Siddharthanagar-4, said Nepal-China Friendship Society Lumbini in a statement.
Chief guest Mayor of Siddharthnagar Municipality, Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan, emphasised the need for further strengthening Nepal-China ties. He expressed that the Nepal-China Friendship Society would play a significant role in enhancing bilateral ties.
Mayor Khan stated that the Belahiya border crossing, where the majority of visitors come by land, would be managed well while making his city cleaner.
"We will make Siddharthnagar a clean, green, and environmentally friendly municipality," he stated. "We have also requested contractors to expedite the completion of the road at the border crossing."
Narayan Prasad Sapkota, Chairman of the Nepal-China Friendship Society Lumbini, stated that learning or achieving even a portion of China's growth would be extremely advantageous to Nepal.
He stated that, despite Nepal's natural beauty, a growing number of young people are migrating overseas. "China has undergone agricultural, industrial, and technological revolutions, and its population is 1.35 billion," he stated. 'China is a large country rich in art and culture. This country has undergone significant development."
He stated that the growth of Lumbini would result in the development of Nepal as a whole. "We have yet to be able to explain the importance of Lumbini to the
world," he added, wishing the Chinese President and people a happy Chinese New Year.
Dilliraj Bhattarai, President of the Siddharth Sahitya Parishad, stated that China has evolved economically, socially, and culturally. "China is our good neighbour," he said, adding, "China has been assisting Nepal in various areas. We may learn from our neighbouring countries that strong leadership is essential for a country's success.'
Abbot Yu Wu Shi Zheong of Chinese monastery in Lumbini stated that the New Year is China's biggest festival celebrated by all Chinese people. "May the partnership between China and Nepal continue to strengthen," he said and prayed for global peace. Confucius Centre director Hoguei Deng was also present at the interaction.
Manish Kumar Joshi, general secretary of the Nepal-China Friendship Society Lumbini, stated that China would observe the Year of the Snake this year.
