NC instructs ministers to respond to citizens' grievances and feedback

Kathmandu, Jan 16: The ruling Nepali Congress has instructed ministers representing the party in the current government to dedicate two days a week to listen and respond to citizens' grievances and feedback.

The meeting of the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party Executive Committee held on Thursday also directed the ministers to focus entirely on the work of their respective ministries for the remaining five days.

The NC parliamentary party also directed ministers be present at the party's central office on different days once a month to discuss the suggestions and demands of citizens who come to the party central office through the party's provincial committees, districts, regions and local levels and implement their appropriate suggestions.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of party president and parliamentary party leader Sher Bahadur Deuba at his residence in Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu. 

The meeting directed the ministers to hold regular discussions on important issues to make the government effective and successful, shared NC Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire. Similarly, the lawmakers affiliated with the Congress, including the chairpersons of the parliamentary committees, have been instructed to work actively to finalize the bills under consideration in their respective committees.

The concerned ministers have also been instructed to take necessary initiatives to complete the development projects included in the budget and annual development programs of the current fiscal year. 

Meanwhile, the meeting today condemned the attack on senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi while he was leaving his office after completing his professional work and urged the government to take strict action against the culprits. 

The meeting approved the decision to select Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat as the coordinator of the Finance Committee, Sanjay Kumar Gautam as the coordinator for the Public Accounts Committee, and Chanda Chaudhary as the coordinator for the Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee under the House of Representatives.
