NC President Deuba extends greetings on Maghe Sankranti

Kathmandu, Jan.14: President of Nepali Congress (NC) and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, in his greeting message on the occasion of 'Maghe Sankranti' has expressed his belief that this festival will play an important role in building national spirit.

The message reads, "Makar Sankranti-Maghe Sankranti has been celebrated as a special festival by various castes of Nepal. Such festivals celebrated in Nepal, which is geographically, ethnically, and culturally diverse, have played an important role in promoting social harmony and building harmonious relations between people of all castes, religions, classes, and professions, as well as maintaining unity in diversity.

On behalf of the party and myself, I express my best wishes for happiness, peace, and prosperity to all Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad, including the Tharu community, who are celebrating this day as a special festival.
