Kathmandu, Jan.10: The government has decided to promote the Acting Foreign Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai to the post of secretary.
Addressing a press conference in the Ministry at Singha Durbar, Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung said that the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to promote Rai to the post of secretary.
He said that the meeting of the cabinet also decided to extend the term of office of Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police (DIG) Shambhu Subedi, Ganesh Thadamagar, Kul Bahadur Nembang and Kamal Giri for a year.
He said that he has decided to approve the Minister for Forests and Environment to participate in the program related to climate change to be held in Rome, Italy from 24 to 27 February.
Secretary Bishnu Prasad Sharma on deputation as the Executive Director of Special Structures Operation and Management Development Committee.
Likewise, permission has been granted to Deputy Auditor General Bamdev Sharma Adhikari to participate in 'Workshop on Inhousing SAI-CSO Engagement on the ASOSAI Region' to be held in Manila of Philippines from February 10-12, added Minister Gurung.
The meeting also gave permission to Minister of State for Forests and Environment to attend the programme related to climate change to be organized in Rome of Italy from February 24-26.
