Gaighat, Jan 10 : With the onset of cold wave, the number of students attending schools has dropped significantly in Udaypur district.
The students, especially of basic
level, are not turning up schools regularly after the temperature declined in
recent days.
Both the community and private
schools from Triyuga, Chaudandi and Katari municipalities are witnessing less
number of students in the class, according to Dewan Rai, a teacher at Jogidaha
Janata Secondary School, Triyuga-1.
Similarly, a teacher at the Peace
Zone School of Triyuga-11, Bhupendra Thapa, informed that only 25 percent of
the schoolchildren up to Grade 4 were present in the class for some days. The
cold wave has affected people’s movement for four days in the district.
Babu Narayan Chaudhari, a teacher
at Janata Secondary School of Handiya, Chaudandigadhi-9, shared similar plight
that biting cold was affecting the school attendance.
Even the guardians do not want
their children brave cold at schools.
The cold wave and fog has adversely
impacted public life.
Those suffering from cold are also
the elderly ones and sick people. (RSS)
