Lahan municipality posts only 3.45 per cent capital spending

 Siraha, Jan 4: At a time when the current fiscal year has made nearly half way, Lahan municipality has posted only 3.45 per cent capital spending.

Mayor Mahesh Prasad Chaudhary presented details on it in the 15th winter municipal assembly held on Friday. Detailed review of expenditure in the past five months was shared on the occasion. 

Of the annual budget with the estimates of Rs 1.23 billion, only Rs 285.6 million was spent so far. 

Of it, Rs 242 million (19.70 per cent) has been spent under recurrent expenditure while Rs 43.34 million (3.45 per cent) under capital expenditure. The municipality has 24 wards. 

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, had inaugurated the 15th winter municipal assembly. The Local Governance Operation Act, 2074 has the provision that municipal assembly can be held twice in a year. (RSS)
