Bhaktapur, Jan 1: Executive Chairman of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), and former Chair of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ, Dharmendra Jha, said FNJ leadership is able to protect press freedom, democracy and journalists' rights.
During a programme organized for the installation of newly elected office bearers of FNJ Bhaktapur chapter on Wednesday, Chairman Jha said FNJ leadership could also contribute constructively to the amendment of constitution
"Political parties have diverse ideologies and faiths, but journalists don't. Journalists always raise people's agenda for resolving problems in society," Jha said, urging journalists to write for free press and freedom of expression and prod policy making level.
On the occasion, the former chair of FNJ in Bhaktapur Jagat Krishna Shrestha handed over the responsibility to newly elected chair Sundar Silpakar. (RSS)
