Festivals have boosted national unity: Upper House Chair Dahal

Kathmandu, Dec 30: National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal has said the Tamu Lhosar festival celebrated by the Gurung community as their New Year Day festival has a crucial role in bolstering religious tolerance and national unity.    


The Chairperson of the upper house of the Federal Parliament stated this in a message of best wishes he gave on the occasion of the Tamu Lhosar today. He extended best wishes for happiness, peace, prosperity and continued progress to all Nepalis, including the people from the Tamu community, within the country and abroad on this occasion.   


Stating that the Constitution of Nepal has internalized national unity characterized by multi-ethnic, multi-religious, multi-lingual and multi-cultural features and geographical diversity as the backbone of


national ethos, the upper house chairman said the indigenous religious and cultural festivals like Tamu Lhosar contribute in an important way in boosting the social unity, harmony, religious tolerance and national unity.  (RSS)
