Gorkhapatra Employee Cooperative’s 18th AGM held

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec 28: The 18th annual general meeting (AGM) of the Gorkhapatra Employee Multipurpose Cooperative Limited concluded today.

Executive Chairman of the Gorkhapatra Corporation (GC) Bishnu Prasad Subedi inaugurated the inaugural session of the AGM held at Tribhuwan Park in Thankot.

In his inaugural speech, executive chairman Subedi lauded the Gorkhaptra Cooperative for its role in bringing together the employees of the GC and thus fostering unity among all the staff.

On the occasion, he assured of resolving the issue related with the welfare fund of the employees, which has been in limbo for years.

Sharing that he was happy that he has been fortunate to extend best wishes as the chief guest in the AGM for four years since he assumed the office as the executive chair of the GC, Subedi wished further progress of the Cooperatives and thanked all associated with it.

Board member and chief of finance department of the GC Raju Kumar Mahat highlighted that the condition of the Gorkhapatra Employee cooperatives was strong although there were many rumours and different understanding regarding operatives sector in the country.

He mentioned that the Cooperatives has been playing role in solving financial problems of the employees in time of need while fostering unity.

In the AGM presided over by the Gorkhapatra Employee Cooperatives Chairman Pushpa Raj Joshi, Vice Chairman Nanda Lal Tiwari thanked all the shareholder members for their cooperation to run and strengthen as the Cooperative.

The AGM was attended by the deputy general manager of the GC Yam Prasad Kandel, editor-in-chief of the Gorkhapatra daily Shiva Kumar Bhattarai, editor-in-chief of The Rising Nepal, Bhimsen Thapaliya, chiefs of different departments of the GC, former chairmen of the Cooperative and the shareholders.

On the occasion, children of the shareholders who passed SEE with excellent marks in the 2080 SEE were also awarded along with cash prizes.

Those who were awarded are Angel Basnet, daugther of Bhagirath Basent for securing 3.91 GPA in SEE, Pratik Aryal, son of Shiva Hari Arya, for securing 3.75 GPA, Pratikshya Rimal, daughter of Khuwa Prasad Rimal securing  3.71 GPA, Himansu Bhandari, son of Khima Bhandari, securing 3.65 GPA and Aditya Prasad Phyual, son of Sabita Phuyal, securing 3.52 GPA. The awarded were presented with Rs. 3,500 and 2,500 respectively for first and second along with letter of recognition.
