Kathmandu, Dec. 26: Minister of Youth and Sports Teju Lal Chaudhary has asked children to engage in sports after school.
Speaking at a program held in Kathmandu on Thursday Minister Chaudhary said that the tendency of students to use mobile phones has been increasing nowadays and urged the parents to spend two hours after school in sports.
He said that sports will keep you physically and mentally healthy as well as protect you from bad influences.
He said that it is necessary to involve the students in sports activities in their leisure.
The tendency to rampantly use mobile phones has increased among today's students. Even parents are frequented with mobile phones making children attracted to its usage. Not only guardians but children also are found more indulged in mobile.
He said, "If you want your children to really improve and do well then I urge them to spend two or three hours a week in sports. Sports upgrades educational capacity not only physical and mental capability. Therefore, I urge parents to engage children in sports for two hours after school."
He urged to let students to play their preferred field of sports.
