Bhajani (Kailali), Dec 24: Janaki rural municipality has started providing grants to the schools being based on results so as to enhance quality education.
The rural municipality has
implemented the result-based grant programme procedure this year. The rural
municipality has started giving grants to the school on the basis of the
results achieved by the students.
The grant has been provided to the
successful schools based on the indicators of pass percentage of students in
the grade 8 examination and SEE.
On the basis of the indicator,
Bhrikuti Secondary School has secured the first position in the secondary
level. With this the school has received a grant of Rs 400,000.
Janata Model Secondary School,
Munuwa, second in top based on the score, received Rs 250,000, while the third
Arunodaya Secondary School, Khairiphanta received Rs 150,000.
As informed, the grant was also
distributed to the schools at basic level based on their performance.
The rural municipality believes
that it will increase competitiveness among the schools.
Janaki chair Ganesh Chaudhary said
that the rural municipality has started a result-based grant program to the
schools to improve the quality of the schools and increase the learning
achievement of the students.
"In the first year, priority
was given to classes 8 and 10 at the basic level and secondary level. From next
year, schools will also get grants based on the results of class 5
examinations," Chaudhary said, adding, "The programme will believably
contribute significantly to the quality of education."
Ashish Chaudhary, chief
administrative officer of the rural municipality said, that the rural municipality
has started a result-based grant programme to strengthen the schools and
students.
"The procedure has also added challenges to schools and
teachers. It will also make the school competitive in improving the
results," he said, adding, "It will help the rural municipality to
maintain the desired quality of education in the coming days." (RSS)
