Kathmandu, Dec 22 : Several religious, spiritual, cultural and social organizations also celebrated the World Meditation Day in Nepal.
There is a mythological belief that
yoga and meditation was initiated from Nepal, the country of the
Himalayas.
Lord Shiva is considered to be the
original guru of yoga and meditation.
On 6 December 2024, the United
Nations General Assembly declared December 21 as the World Meditation Day. On
the occasion of the day, a 32-hour continuous meditation programmne was
organized worldwide.
Nepal Maharishi Vedic Foundation
organized this programme in Nepal. Deepak Prakash Baskota, chairperson of the
Foundation, said that the transcendental meditation center under the
Foundation, Global Mother Divine Organization and 90 gurukuls operating across
the country conducted collective yoga and meditation on Saturday.
Similarly, Jeewan Bigyan, Patanjali
Sanstha, Brahma Kumari Rajyoga Seva Kendra and various organizations opened and
operated in the name of Osho celebrated the Day by organizing various
