Construction of suspension bridge in investment of Rs 4 million

By Rammani Dahal, Hetauda, Dec.20: The construction of a suspension bridge has been started in Bakaiya Rural Municipality-12, Makawanpur with the help of a donor agency.

Chairperson of Bakaiya Rural Municipality Dharma Raj Lamichhane, ward chair-11 Gopal Lama, and Ward chair-12 Gyanendra  Bajgain  joint laid the foundation stone of the bridge connecting Dhetredamar and Godamdanda of Bakaiya Rural Municipality-12 

Laying the foundation stone of the suspension bridge, the rural municipality chairperson Lamichhane said that the rural municipality is taking action to make infrastructural development a priority making it accessible to all citizens.

The suspension bridge which will be 90 meters long will be built from financial aid of 4 million rupees from the Esther Benjamin Memorial Foundation and the coordination of the rural municipality.

Ward chair 12 Bajgain said that the residents of Dhetredamar, Godamdanda, and surrounding areas will benefit after the completion of the bridge, which is targeted to be completed within two months. 

According to him, the locals are forced to commute at risk during the rainy season because of the lack of a suspension bridge.
