Manakamana Cable Car back into service

By Guna Bahadur Roka, Sulikot,  Dec.18: The ropeway service of the Manakamana cable car has resumed today from Wednesday.

Issuing a public notice, Deputy Manager of Manakamana Darshan Private Limited Kurintar, Chitwan, Ujjwal Sherchan said that the Manakamana Cable Car has been fully operational from today as the tower maintenance work saw its completion for 2 days.

He said that the service was closed on December 16 and 17 for repair and maintenance and upgrading of the Manakamana cable car tower.

The cable car service was operated on November 24, 1998, to facilitate the people visiting the famous Manakamana Temple at Sahid Lakhan rural municipality of Gorkha district, which takes just ten minutes. 

 The bottom station of the Cable Car Service is located at Cheres, Ichhakamana rural municipality-4 in Chitwan.

Mankamana Cable Car Pvt. Ltd. said that although upgrading the tower was completed by replacing the technology connected 26 years ago by installing the modern technology currently prevalent in the world, the tower had to be repaired, halting services for two days. 

It is stated in the public notice that the company apologizes for the inconvenience.
