Inspiring faces at 2nd TEDxBaneshwor

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 16: Upendra Subba, a celebrated poet, lyricist, writer, and filmmaker, alongside reigning Miss Nepal World 2024, Ashma Kumari KC, are two of the several inspiring faces who will be sharing their remarkable journeys and insights at the second edition of TEDxBaneshwor.

TEDxBaneshwor is an event organised under a free license granted by TED that offers communities the opportunity to stimulate dialogue, spark connection, and inspire action by showcasing diverse ideas and innovative thinkers.

According to the organisers, the second edition aims to encourage attendees to reflect deeply on themselves while engaging with diverse perspectives and stories from changemakers across various fields under the year’s theme "Introspective Journey”.

Subba, who has influenced Nepali literature with his creative projects like Lato Pahad and contributions to iconic films, is said to reflect his passion for culture and storytelling when the event takes place on December 21 at Southwestern State College in Basundhara, Kathmandu.

Similarly, Miss Nepal World 2024, KC, has been active as an entrepreneur and social activist with a focus on women's empowerment. The attendees would be able to listen to KC’s journey and her passion for success.

Likewise, the wall of the Nepali men’s national football team, goalie Kiran Chemjong, will also be sharing his experience in the second edition.

Other inspiring speakers in the upcoming event are CA Anupama Sangraula; founder of IN-Depth Story, Sudip Bhai Subedi; former Minister for Youth and Sports, Biraj Bhakta Shrestha; prosthodontist and oral implantologist Dr. Nikita Agarwal; founder of 100’s Group Nepal, Bablu Gupta; aviation and UAV expert, Prabin Bhattarai; certified NPL Practitioner, Rajan Koirala; and an experienced Certified Education Counselor, Binod Thapa.

The first edition, in July this year, saw Dr. Manita Rajkarnikar, former director of Nepal Red Cross Society; Sunil Babu Pant, LGBTQ+ Activist and Politician; and Shreeya Giri, founder of Nepali digital mental health platform Happy Minds who was listed in Forbes Under 30, among others.
