Kathmandu, Dec 13: The Federation
of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) – an umbrella organization of working journalists
of the country is holding its election today to pick a new leadership.
According to the central election
committee, the voting will be held from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on Friday.
As informed, Devi Prasad Sapkota,
Nirmala Sharma, Ramesh Bista and Lal Singh Lama have filed their candidacy for
the post of central president while Govinda Prasad Chaulagain, Deepak Acharya
and Roshan Puri have filed their candidacies for the post of senior
vice-president.
Similarly, Ganga Poudel and Neetu
Pandit have filed their candidacies for the post of women vice-president, Umid
Bagchand, Mohan Kumar Singh and Subhash Prasad Sah for inclusive
vice-president,
Janamdev Jaisi, Prakash Thapa, Ram
Prasad Dahal and Lekhnath Neupane are contesting for the post of general
secretary.
The new leadership will be elected
in the central committee, 10 province committees, 77 district chapters and 41
pratishthan chapters today. (RSS)
