NPL: Pokhara defeats Biratnagar by 13 runs in super over thriller

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec 12: Pokhara Avengers defeated Biratnagar Kings in Super over after the match was tied in the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Thursday in the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.

In the Super Over Pokhara beats Biratnagar by 13 runs. Pokhara hit 18 runs in the super over with the help of Raymon Reifer's 17 and Andries Gous's one run. But Biratnagar only scored 5 runs with Martin Guptill and Nicholas Kirton's two runs each and one run extra

Earlier Pokhara scored 139 runs in the stipulated 20 overs which was also the score of Biratnagar in 20 overs. Biratnagar scored 139 runs by losing 7 wickets whereas Pokhara scored the same total in 6 wickets.

To manage a score of 139 runs Pokhara's Andries Gous, Raymon Reifer and Kushal Bhurtel scored 39, 34 and 31 runs respectively. Michael Leask scored 11 runs, Zen Malik scored 4 runs and Narayan Joshi scored 2 runs.

Biratnagar's bowler Pratis GC took 4 wickets alone, and Chris Sole took 2 wickets.

Earlier in the first inning, Biratnagar's Scott Edwards scored 45 runs, Lokesh Bam 26 runs, Basir Ahamad 21, Nicholas Kirton 19, Chris Sole 7 and Martin Guptill scored 5 runs. Naren Bhatta, Dipak Bohara and Pratis GC scored 4 runs each. 

Pokhara's bawlers Sagar Dhakal and Raymon Reifer took two wickets each. Similarly, Kushal Bhurtel and Dinesh Kharel took a single wicket each.
