Damauli, Nov 29: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh, has said political stability is prerequisite to development.

Opening an integrated building of the office of new urban development commission at Bhansar of Bhanu municipality-1 in Tahanu district on Friday, DPM Singh argued the two largest political parties had formed the government to walk country on the path of economic prosperity.

Frequent changes in government has botched up development works, so the stable government was required to intensify the pace of development, he said, adding, "We realized that we failed to work for people as the government changed for two to three times in a year alone. It made the NC and UML to agree for coalition government."

He further underlined the need for consolidating federal democratic republic and promoting and protecting constitutional rights.

It is government's responsibility to ensure people's livelihood. The government has accorded a top priority to employment-generating education. "Only traditional education does not suffice, so education must be linked to employment," he added.

He assured ministry's cooperation with Bhanu municipality's programme of land categorization.

Meanwhile, DPM Singh visited Chundiramgha, the birthplace of Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya.

He garlanded a life size statue of the Adikavi on the occasion.

He opined that the birthplace of the Adikavi could be developed as a place of literary tourism. The government needs to pay heed to this regard, Singh added.(RSS)
