15 students of Butwal get MBBS scholarships

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Butwal, Nov. 22: In Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-10, 15 students from Kalika Manav Gyan Secondary School, a community school, have successfully secured full scholarships in MBBS in a single attempt.

In total, 64 students from the school have secured full scholarships in various undergraduate faculties by participating in entrance examinations for different fields. Among them, 15 students who passed Grade 12 from the school specifically secured full scholarships in MBBS. Similarly, five students secured scholarships in BDS, two in Optometry, two in BMLT, five in B. Pharmacy, 13 in B.Sc. Nursing, two in B.Sc. Veterinary, two in B.Sc. Agriculture, three in BPH and 11 in Engineering.

Meanwhile, the school also honoured the students securing scholarships with cash rewards and recognitions by organising a programme. 

Headmaster Dinesh Thapa said that Kalika had become the first school in Nepal to have 15 students secure full scholarships in MBBS from a single institution in an open competition. He emphasised that the excellent academic environment of the school, combined with the students' hard work, had led to these outstanding results. He also encouraged students to refine their efforts further.  Chairperson of the School Management Committee, Nityananda Gyawali, congratulated the students and urged them to maintain Kalika’s reputation in the future. He said that a strong foundation at the school level was crucial for academic goals and encouraged students to work even harder. Kalika Secondary School has 8,000 students. Last year, one of its students achieved a GPA of 4.0 in the SEE.

During the student recognition programme, Ward member Yamuna Kaucha of Ward No. 10 emphasised the need to publicise the school's achievements. Assistant Headmaster Pitambar Banjade, Parents’ Association Chair Keshav Raj Pokharel, Science Faculty In-Charge Krishna Prasad Adhikari and Arvind Kumar Dubey among others, remarked that Kalika’s progress in education serves as an exemplary model for other schools.
