Pregnant woman rescued in Damak

By Our Correspondent,Damak, Nov. 19A pregnant woman has been rescued from the street in the leadership of Damak Municipality Deputy’s Mayor Regina Bhattarai Prasai. 

According to Deputy Mayor Prasai, the woman was taken to Damak Hospital, where she successfully delivered her baby. 

The hospital confirmed that both the mother and the newborn were in good health. She informed that the municipality had arranged for all necessary care and treatment for the woman.

She said, “Efforts will be made, in coordination with the concerned authorities, to locate the woman’s family and the baby’s father after her recovery. Once discharged from the hospital, the woman will be provided shelter at the Safe House, a women’s secure housing facility operated by the municipality.”

Sarita Bhandari, head of the Women’s Department of Damak Municipality, said that a similar rescue of a woman was carried out three years ago. The municipality has been running the Safe House for several years to provide temporary, secure accommodation for women and children found in distress or abandoned condition.
