Dhaka, Nov 4 (AFP/RSS) : Adani group has reduced electricity supply to Bangladesh due to outstanding dues of 850 million US dollar.
Chairperson of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) Rezaul Karim told AFP, “We are trying to fulfill the gap from others plant”.
Adani group had sent notification worth 850 million US dollar bill to Bangladesh in September.
Meanwhile Bangladesh is struggling to manage necessary payment.
Karim said, “It is not possible to pay in a month. We are trying to increase the payment of the due amount. We are talking with Adani Group and has been informed to the group”.
Karim informed that Bangladesh had in October had paid 970 thousand US dollar to the Adani Group which bigger amount than previous three months.
Bagladesh rely on air condition due to extreme cold in winter.
Bangladesh also fulfill its power supply of 1160 mw from West Bangle and Tripura.
