Nepalis illuminate lamp of awakening wherever they go: PM Oli

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 27: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged everyone to uphold the image of Nepalis as those who illuminate the lamp of awakening and leave their footprints wherever they go. 

Speaking at the 3rd Global Nepali Literary Conference, 2024, organised by the Global Federation for Nepali Literature, Prime Minister Oli mentioned that literature is important because it not only entertains but also gives a message of social awakening and progress.

Prime Minister Oli expressed that such conferences aim to showcase Nepal’s original literature and art to the world. 

He announced preparations to resume the ‘Himvatkhanda Kala Sahitya Sammelan,’ which was suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic, and encouraged world-class authors to take part in the event.

During the programme, Prime Minister Oli honoured several writers, including former Chief Minister of Sikkim, Pawan Chamling.
