Madheshi Ekta Samaj celebrates Dashain in Dubai

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 16: Madheshi Ekta Samaj, an umbrella organisation of Nepal’s Madheshis living abroad hosted a special function on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami, Dipawali and Chhath festivals at Zabeel Park in Dubai on Saturday.

The chief guest of the function, Dr. Rajesh Ahiraj, former province chief of Madhesh Pradesh, praised the efforts made by the Ekta Samaj to unite the Madheshi community abroad. 

Dr. Rabindra Kumar Yadav, coordinator of the International Committee of Ekta Samaj said that the organisation was determined to prioritise the welfare of Nepal’s Madhesi Diaspora in foreign lands. He also promised to increase the influence and reach of the organisation to serve the Madheshi community.

Talking to The Rising Nepal, Dr. Yadav said that the function was held in the huge presence of Madhesi people living in Dubai.

General secretary of the Ekta Samaj, Roshan Maxist, underlined the purpose and contribution of the Ekta Samaj in preserving the unity and cultural heritage among the Madhesi community.

On the occasion, Nayana, a Madheshi nurse working in Dubai, expressed her happiness at being a part of the Ekta Samaj and praised the organisation's role in helping Madheshi workers in Dubai.

Anil Shah, one of the founders of the Ekta Samaj, who has to leave for America with his family, got emotional during the function and expressed his gratitude for the support he received from the community. He informed about his plan to expand the Ekta Samaj in America.

The third secretary of the Nepal Embassy in Abu Dhabi, Bimlesh Kumar Mishra, Dr. Krishna Yadav of Janakpur Regional Hospital, Bikas Bhattarai, translator Razi Ahmed, and others were present in the function. At the last of the function, they enjoyed a delicious meal and exchanged greetings.
