Santoshi Karki wins Mrs. Nepal Universe

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Oct. 2: Santoshi Karki has won the title of Mrs. Nepal Universe 2024. She won the crown in a competition organised by the London Fashion House. With the title, she will represent Nepal in the 47th Mrs. Universe competition.

This year Mrs. Universe will be held in Mexico City, Mexico, on 16 November.

Mrs. Universe is the oldest beauty pageant for married women, running for 47 years and Nepal has been participating in Mrs Universe for the past half-decade.

This year, more than 140 married women between the ages of 18 and 55 from around the world will participate, with Santoshi representing Nepal.

Santoshi, who is also the General Secretary of the Federation of International Nepali Youth Entrepreneurs, UK, is confident that her leadership experience in various organisations will help her perform well in Mrs. Universe. 

She is set to fly to South Korea in two days to participate in the competition.

Santoshi, who also teaches at a university in London, came to Nepal four days ago specifically for Mrs. Nepal Universe.

Besides her academic career, she runs a restaurant business in London and is the mother of an 8-year-old son. 

Santoshi, originally from Solukhumbu, has been living in the UK for the past one and a half decades. 

After completing her 12th grade in Kathmandu, she pursued higher education and participated in Miss Teen 2007. 

She also won the title of Miss Teen College in 2008. Santoshi mentioned that her past experiences played a significant role in her winning the title of Mrs. Nepal Universe this year.

She stated that she has been involved in beauty pageants since her college days. 

Santoshi has completed all necessary training for Mrs. Universe under choreographer Rojin Shakya.

“She will represent Nepal in the competition starting in Seoul, South Korea, on October 3,” said Manisha Dangol Shrestha, the organiser of Mrs. Nepal Universe and chairperson of London Fashion House.
