Dayahang completes dubbing for Anjila

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 28: The dubbing for actor Dayahang Rai in the Nepali film Anjila has been completed. 

The film is set to release in Nepal on March 13. 

Anjila is based on the life of Anjila Tumbapo Subba, goalkeeper of Nepal’s national women’s football team. 

The film is directed by Milan Chams. According to Chams, almost all the work on the movie has been completed, and an announcement about its international release will soon be made by organising a press conference.

Angila Tumbapo Subba herself will appear in the lead role. Alongside her, actors  Dayahang Rai, Srijana Subba, Maotse Gurung, Buddhi Tamang and others will also be featured. Producer Prem Kumar Shrestha has also done a major role in the film.

The movie was shot in Angila’s birthplace, Aaitabare in Suryodaya Municipality of Ilam, and in Jhapa and Kathmandu. 

It will portray her childhood struggles and her journey to success in sports. According to director Chams, the film aims to deliver the message that nothing is impossible if one has the willpower. He clarified that while the film is not a full biopic of Angila, it is based on significant events from her life.

The film’s cinematography was done by Sudeep Baral, and editing was handled by Milan Shrestha. Produced under the banner of Moon Love Entertainment by Prem Shrestha, Anjila also features Tubendra Limbu, Binod Agrawal, and Rajesh Bagdia as co-producers.
