Myagdi: Sept 25: The Nepal Telecom (NT) has expanded its service in Korala, the border with China's Autonomous Region Tibet.
According to hief of Baglung-based Nepal Telecom, Santosh Baral, the service had started from Tuesday by erecting BTS towers for the operation of 2G and 4G internet and mobile phone services at Korala border trade transit point.
Chair of Lomanthang Rural Municipality, Tasinrbu Gurung said the communication facility has made it easier for the locals, traders, security personnel, customs personnel and anyone who reaches Korala border point to communicate.
The electricity facility of the central transmission line was extended in April last year at the Korala border point, which came into operation a year ago.
Chief District Officer Janak Raj Panta said preparations have been made to set up offices of immigration, customs and security agencies in the buildings constructed with the investment of the Gandaki province government.
Residents of Lomanthang, Waragung Muktikshetra, Gharpajhong, Thasang, Loghekar and Damodarkunda rural municipalities of Mustang have been regularly travelling up to Nechung-Litchi in Tibet for trade purpose. (RSS)
