An adult crocodile rescued and released back into lake

By Chandani Acharya, Ghodaghodi (Kailali), Sept. 20: An adult crocodile has been rescued and then released back into the Ghodaghodi Lake in the wetlands of Kailali, known for its biodiversity,  on Friday morning. 

Locals informed the forest staff after they saw the crocodile coming out from East Ojuwa Lake and going towards the settlement from the water stream. The crocodile has been taken into control by the Division Forest Office, Pahalmanpur, and support from locals. 

Section officer of the Division Forest Office said that a five-foot-long crocodile weighing around 60-70 kgs was rescued and then released back into the Ghodaghodi lake. 

The Magar Crocodiles are found everywhere now in water streams, fields of farmers following the increase in their number in the Ghodaghodi wetland area. 

It is said that they come out in search of food.
