DPM Singh and WB officials hold meeting

Kathmandu, Sept 16: Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister, Prakash Man Singh and the World Bank (WB) officials held a meeting at the Ministry of Urban Development in Singha Durbar on Monday. 

On the occasion, discussions were held on the Nepal Urban Governance and Infrastructure Project operated under the Ministry and in collaboration with the WB. 

Deputy Prime Minister Singh urged the World Bank to collaborate with the Ministry, as it wanted to do so for the urban development in the Kathmandu Valley. "Let the World Bank work on any project in Kathmandu Valley also this time. Working in the Valley will send a message throughout the country," he added.

DPM Singh stressed on partnership in managing the Valley's rivers, developing the Valley as a cultural city and in areas of climate change and infrastructure development. 

World Bank's Operations Manager for Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, Preeti Arora, said that WB is positive on DPM's proposal to work on a new project in the Kathmandu Valley. (RSS)
