Need to effectively implement digital economy framework: Minister Gurung

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept. 15: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has directed agencies under the Ministry to work with a view to achieving best result in the annual goals of this fiscal year.

The Minister instructed all in the line agencies under the Ministry to work honestly with best performance to achieve the goals as set in the government's policy, programmes and budget document.

Minister Gurung said so following work contract between the Ministry and chiefs of the agencies under the Ministry.

At an official programme held today, Minister Gurung also had contract with Secretary of the Ministry Radhika Aryal while Aryal had work contract with division chiefs of the ministry and agencies under the ministry.

He reminded the officers in the Ministry that the government has taken work contract so that there will be review of performance for first hundred, second hundred and then the remaining 165 days in a year.

Minister Gurung pointed at the need of Nepal's own satellite which could stand as a measure of the country's development. He also placed emphasis on effective implementation of digital Nepal framework and directed all accordingly.

On the occasion, the Minister said he was positive about establishing a separate institute for imparting to employees of the government media and restructure the workforce.

He said all the laws related to works to be carried out by the ministry and agencies under it will be made within this year.
