Sudurpashim, Sept 5: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has announced that political parties are preparing to propose a constitutional amendment aimed at further reinforcing the fundamental norms, values, and principles of democratic inclusion.

During a party cadres' meeting in Dhangadhi on Thursday, the Nepali Congress (NC) central member said the Constitution is a document that is supposed to be reviewed and assessed in a decade and political parties have realized the need for its amendment accordingly.

The Constitution will be amended on the consent of all political parties in the country, he said.

He took time to claim that two major political parties: the NC and the CPN (UML) decided to form a coalition government to address public frustration in the absence of political instability due to frequent changes in the political equation.

The present equation aims to achieve peace, good governance, development, and prosperity, according to the leader. The endorsement of the Bill relating to transitional justice is a significant achievement of the incumbent government that had been possible within 30 days of its formation, he added. (RSS)
