Cancer treatment services expanded to three provincial hospitals

Kathmandu, Sept 4: Cancer treatment services have been expanded to three provincial hospitals across the country.     

The services have been extended to the Seti Provincial Hospital at Dhangadi of Surkhet district, Surkhet Provincial Hospital in Surkhet district and Koshi Provincial Hospital at Biratnagar in Morang district.     

The BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital at Chitwan will facilitate to start of the treatment services at Seti Provincial Hospital. An agreement towards this was signed between the representatives of these two public health facilities today.     

Executive Director Dr Shivaji Poudel, Bharatpur, on behalf of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, and Chief Medical Superintendent Dr Sher Bahadur Kamar, representing the Seti Provincial Hospital, formalized the agreement.     

A similar agreement has been signed with Surkhet Provincial Hospital and Koshi Provincial Hospital, according to the Ministry of Health of Population.     

The enhanced cancer care facilities will be rendered from the Madhesh Provincial Hospital very soon, the Ministry unveiled its plan in a press statement today.     

It may be noted that Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel endorsed the National Cancer Control Strategy 2024-2030 after assuming his office on July 15 this year.     

Later the Minister included extending cancer treatment services in all seven provinces as one of his priorities and plans.     

The BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital thereafter extended the enhanced cancer care services and facilities in the hospitals under its charge by entering an agreement. (RSS)
