NA members seek investigation into alleged irregularities in MEC results

Kathmandu, Sept 3: In a meeting of the National Assembly (NA) today, lawmakers expressed concerns over the alleged irregularities in the results of the Medical Education Commission, demanding an investigation to find the facts over the issue.     

Airing views in a zero hour, they said unveiled details suggest irregularities in the results and the matter should be sorted out through investigations.     

Krishan Prasad Paudel accused MEC of negligence in the results while Goma Devi Timilsina said the unveiled reports are enough to raise questions over the credibility of the exam.     

Bhuwan Bahadur Sunuwar said alleged anomalies in medical education should be probed and action should be taken if it is proven.     

He called on the government to inform the House about the realities surrounding the recent so-called statement by the Minister for Communications and Information Technology about the police chief.     

Narayana Datta Mishra said Nepal citizens are left stranded in Brazil's airport and the situation is the same in Russia.     

Madan Kumari Shah said Russia recruited Nepali citizens in the Russian force unlawfully and so far 40 Nepalis have died. She demanded the government's prompt efforts to save the lives of those Nepali who joined the Russian army.     

Yubaraj Sharma urged the government to focus on the police adjustment to strengthen the federal system. (RSS)
