I put forth issues of national interests, concerns in meeting during India visit: FM Dr. Rana

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept 3: Froeign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has said that her recent visit to India was a good will one and that she put forth issues pertinent to Nepal’s national interest and concerns during the bilateral meeting.

She said so while speaking at the International Relation and Tourism Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) today.

She said during her meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, discussions focused on consolidating Nepal-India friendly relations and expanding existing cooperation for mutual benefits.

Foreign Minister Dr Rana informed the Committee that she handed over the invitation from PM KP Sharma Oli to Indian PM Narendra Modi to visit Nepal and that PM Modi accepted the invitation with happiness and responded positively to visit Nepal.

She said that her bilateral meeting with her Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar remained important as it focused on expanding cooperation on trade and transit between Nepal and India, increasing amount of electricity being exported to India from Nepal, expanding cross border connectivity, promoting Indian investment in Nepal and providing additional air entry route to Nepal by India.
