Foreign Employment Department to expand services in all Provinces

Kathmandu, Sept 2: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Sharat Singh Bhandari has said that the preparation is underway to expand the foreign employment department service to seven provinces. 

In an informal interaction with journalists on Sunday, Minister Bhandari said that the preparation is moving forward to provide existing foreign employment services at the province level. 

There is preparation to provide information on foreign employment at the local level as well. 

He said that he is taking the initiative to lift restrictions on women going abroad for domestic labour.

He said that the seven-point directives of the Parliamentary Committee have created a hindrance. In this concern, he informed the Home Ministry and Foreign Affairs Ministry are positive.  

Minister Bhandari said, “Initiative of civil society is needed in this matter”. 

The minister expressed that the government is aware of not sending labour to the nations where labour dignity is not maintained.
