PM directs for protection of Bal Mandir's physical property

Kathmandu, Sept 1: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has insisted on the full protection and utilization of land registered in the name of Nepal Children's Organisation (Bal Mandir).     

During his meeting with the officials of the Organisation at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar today, the Prime Minister wanted them to take even the harsh actions if needed to ensure protection of all physical property, including land and buildings owned by the Organisation in different parts of the country.     

He urged the officials not to entertain the grab, encroachment, and misuse of the Organisation's lands. If any piece of land is grabbed, its ownership should be brought back to the Organization itself, he asserted.     

Newly appointed Chief Secretary Eknarayan Aryal, and Secretary at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary, Phandindra Gautam, were present in the meeting.     

He also stressed the need to ensure proper care and facilities for the children.     

Organisation President Bidhya Neupane sought the government's full cooperation to get a revised and official statute for the Organization as part of its recognition as a special entity, protect its land, and facilitate the children who are facing problems in acquiring birth registrations and citizenships.     

Presently, there are around 300 children under the Organisation's protection.(RSS)
