Case of corruption filed against officials of Forest Users Group

Kathmandu, Aug 28: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case of corruption at the Special Court against then Chair of Maivalley Community Forest Users' Group in Ilam, Dol Bahadur Karki and Treasurer Rita Sambahamfe.     

The then chair of the Users Group, has been charged of committing corruption by serving also as the contractor during the Kabeli Corridor expansion and cutting down trees beyond the permitted number.     

In the case filed today, the CIAA has sought necessary action as per the law and also recovery of the embezzled amount worth 3.78 million. Spokesperson of the Commission, Narahari Ghimire, said in the case filed at the special court imprisonment as well as fine has been sought against both the chair and the treasurer. (RSS)
