President Paudel pays homage to Lord Krishna

Patan, Aug 26: President Ramchandra Paudel worshipped and performed Pooja at the Krishna Mandir (temple) in Patan Durbar Square today on the occasion of Shree Krishna Janmashtami. 

On the occasion, President Paudel received Prasad from the priest of the temple.     

Earlier, President Paudel was welcomed at the Krishna Mandir premises by federal MPs elected from Lalitpur, Bagmati Provincial Assembly members, Lalitpur Chief District Officer Tulsi Bahadur Shrestha, Lalitpur Metropolitan City Acting Chief Manjali Shakya Bajracharya and others.     


After visiting the temple and receiving 'prasad', President Paudel observed the Mangahiti.     

On the occasion of the Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival, it is a tradition for the head of state to visit the Krishna temple every year and offer prayers.     

This festival is celebrated every year on Bhadra Krishna Ashtami to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna. Devotees are thronging the Krishna temple at Patan as well as the Krishna temples across the country today. (RSS)
