Eight suspension bridges built in Myagdi

Myagdi, Aug. 16 : Eight suspension bridges were constructed in the fiscal year 2080/081 BS and three others are under construction in rural areas of Myagdi district.     


Three bridges were developed in partnership with the Gandaki Province Government, Trail Bridge Sector Wide Approach (TB SWAp), Trail Bridge Support Unit (TBSU), local levels, the local community and a community organization.    


Dilmaya Bitalu, an official of the implementing community organization, said that the bridges were prepared with an investment of Rs 200 million.   

 
Such bridges were constructed over Myagdikhola (river) in Malika Rural Municipality Ward No. 5 and 6; and Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality Ward No. 4 and 7.    


Likewise, two other trail bridges were built over Dobillakhola and Thulokhola in Annapurna Rural Municipality.    


Similarly, a 126-metre-long suspension bridge was built over Kaligandaki River, which has eased the travel of the local community from Bhurung Tatopani to Paudwar Tatopani.    


The Infrastructure Development Office of Gandaki Province Government said that the construction works of the bridges in Beni Municipality-7, Raghuganga Rural Municipality-8 and Malika Rural Municipality-4 are ongoing.   (RSS)
