Media Advocacy Group felicitates Secretary Aryal

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 14: The Media Advocacy Group (MAG) organised a felicitation programme to honour Radhika Aryal, the first woman to serve as Secretary at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. 

The event brought together 25 women journalists from various media organisations to celebrate this milestone in women's leadership.

Talking to women journalists on Sunday, Secretary Aryal highlighted the ongoing development of several media-related laws, noting that some have already reached the parliament while others are being drafted. She stressed the need for continued dialogue and welcomed input from all stakeholders to upgrade these laws.

Babita Basnet, founding president of MAG, praised Aryal's appointment as a significant achievement for women in leadership across all sectors.

The event was attended by notable figures, including past president of Sancharika Samuha and CEDAW committee member Bandana Rana, along with journalists Sangita Khadka, Anita Bindu, Nirmala Sharma, Neetu Pandit and Sangita Lama.
