By TRN Online, Kathmandu, July 24: Eighteen people on board have died in the 9 N AME flight of Saurya Airlines crashed while departing from Kathmandu to Pokhara this morning.
During the takeoff, the plane veered off into a ditch in the east of the 'runway' of the Tribhuvan International Airport and crashed badly.
According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dambar Bahadur BK, a security officer deployed at the Airport, the bodies of 18 people on board that were scattered after the accident have been retrieved.
Preparations are underway to take all the bodies to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH).
He said one of the crew members was rescued alive.
The plane, which was going to Pokhara with employees and technicians for the maintenance, crashed. Domestic flights are affected at the airport because of the incident.
