By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 17: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has adjusted the prices of petroleum products.
A meeting of NOC's board of directors held on Friday evening has increased the price of petrol while it has decreased the price of diesel and kerosene.
The NOC has decided to increase the price of petrol by Rs. 2 per litre. The prices of diesel and kerosene have been decreased by Rs. 1 per litre each. The new price came into effect from Saturday morning (August 16, 2025).
According to a press statement of NOC, the price of petrol has been increased due to the increase in the price received from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) Friday.
However, the prices of diesel and kerosene have been decreased due to decrease in its prices received from IOC. The price of petrol in Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara and Dipayal has reached Rs. 161 per litre.
Similarly, petrol will now be Rs. 158.50 per litre each in the first category (Chaarali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhjung, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Birgunj) and Rs. 160 in the second category (Surkhet and Dang).
The price of diesel and kerosene in Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara and Dipayal has decreased to Rs. 149 per litre each.
Similarly, prices of diesel and kerosene have dropped to Rs. 146.50 per litre each in the first category and Rs. 148 in the second category. The NOC said that the prices of aviation fuel and cooking gas have remained unchanged.
