Three Yoga gurus honoured

By A Staff Reporter, Gundu, Bhaktapur, July 24: A function was organised to honour and congratulate three Yoga gurus of Patanjal Yoga Committee Nepal who had been recently conferred on honorary PhD and International Gaurav Award by Socrates Social Research University of New Delhi, in Gundu, Bhaktaur on Tuesday. The three had been awarded by the university for their significant contribution to the field of Yoga and social service. Ward Chairman of Suryavinayak Municipality 7 and Patron of Patanjal Yoga Committe Rabindra Sapkota honoured Chairman of Patanjal Yoga Central Committee Balmukunda Suwal, Senior Vice Chairman Nawaraj Kaphley and consultant Sarita Bhuju at a function organised by Gundu Yoga Centre. Former Deputy Coordinator of District Coordination Committee, Bhaktapur Sarita Kuwar, Patanjal Yoga Central Committee Consultant Avaya Shrestha, District Committee member of the organisation Meena Nagarkoti, Chairman of Gundu Yoga Centre Premkrishna Nagarkoti and others congratulated them. Ward Chairman Sapkota expressed his commitment that the ward will leave no stone unturned for the sound health and well-being of the residents of the ward. "We are trying to establish more Yoga centres at different areas of the ward," he announced. Patanjal Yoga Central Committee Chairman Suwal presented plan of the organisation for taking Yoga to every corner of the country. At the programme chaired by Gundu Yoga Centre Chairman Nagarkoti, other speakers including Sarita Kuwar and Rita Pakhrin also spoke on the importance of Yoga. Patanjal Yoga Committee Nepal was established in 2018.
