Monsoon-induced casualties higher in Koshi, Gandaki and Lumbini

Kathmandu, July 11: Koshi, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces have suffered more human loss in this year's monsoon.     

In the period of one month since the onset of monsoon (from June 10 to July 11), 88 people died in the country, with highest casualty recorded in the three provinces.     

Among the provinces, Gandaki suffered the most human losses. The highest casualties was recorded in Gandaki province at 25, followed by 23 in Lumbini province and 19 in Koshi province, said Spokesperson of Nepal Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police Dan Bahadur Karki.     

 According to the information provided by Nepal Police, one person died in Kathmandu Valley, four in Madhes Province, five in Bagmati Province, four in Karnali Province and seven in Sudurpaschim Province.     

Likewise, 106 people have been injured so far across the country, with six people still reported missing. Furthermore, 176 houses were inundated due to floods and 3462 families were displaced due to the disaster till date. (RSS)
